The mission team has returned and Joe Krabill has the following report.

"The week went well. There were 10 from Faith, 1 from St. John's and 8 from our friends' church in Amherst.N.Y.We worked on two houses. On the one we did some painting, put some panelling and molding around kitchen cabinets, put up two doors, and did some mudding and sanding in the bathroom. The other home was a historical home. The owner had a good job, but lost it after Katrina, so needed help. A lot of painting was done, glass panes were put in and glazed, and an outside deck was started. The 3 Bairs were taken away on Thursday and Friday, to work on a display on how to build substantial low income housing, for a show similar to the Home Show at BJC.

We also had opportunity to work at Loaves and Fishes - where free meals are given out daily Monday to Friday; the Food Pantry which distributes various food and other items to those in need and also the Micah Center, which just opened the week before we arrived. At the Micah Center, persons can take a shower, get their laundry done, access the internet and obtain some counseling. It was a great place to meet people and hear their stories. The week provided a great opportunity to build fellowship and get to know one another at a deeper level."
