Faith United Church would like to invite you to Church School!. Our Church School provides something for children of all ages. We meet Sunday mornings from 9:30am-10:30 am (September-May) upstairs in Asendorf Hall. Come join the fun and excitement of Church School. We would love for you to join us.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide a
high quality Christian education for our students that is fun, interesting, and
applicable. We strive to teach our
students about the Bible and GodÕs love for them through scripture readings,
role plays, and activities.
However, we understand that it isnÕt enough for children to learn about
being a Christian Ð they have to experience how to be a Christian. By incorporating service projects into
the curriculum, we strive to teach the students how to serve God by serving
others.
Our Curriculum
Our Teachers
Our teachers are members or
friends of the church who are dedicated to providing a high quality Christian
education to our students. Each
teacher has a love for Christ and a desire to help our students to deepen their
faith.
Our Classes
We adapt our class size and the
number of classes based on the needs of our students and the number of children
enrolled in Church School. Our
children participate in class with peers of their own age. Each class experiences an
age-appropriate Christian education with fun activities and interactive
lessons.
Confirmation Class
In addition to Church School classes, we also offer Confirmation Class for students in 8th or 9th grade, taught this year by Jaye Herrick and our Pastor, Rev. Diane Prosser. The Confirmands meet on Sunday mornings at 9:30 a.m. to reflect on Scripture and to read or write in their journals entitled ÒAffirming Faith.Ó They also have opportunities to visit other churches and faith communities, have socials together, and do service projects. In May, they are each asked to write their own ÒStatement of Faith,Ó and invited to full membership at Faith Church.
Events
Below are a few of the events
that the Church School students have participated in and look forward to
