Consistory
The Consistory is the administrative council responsible for the operation of the church. It may delegate, as appropriate, decision-making to permanent Ministry Teams and committees. It may also appoint ad hoc groups to carry out special tasks. Consistory shall consist of 6 elders and 6 deacons. The Consistory selects its own officers (chair, vice-chair, secretary).
Consistory assists the pastor in administering the sacraments. The elders shall serve as a "pastor-parish relations" committee. A deacon or elder may be assigned to a ministry team as a liaison for communicating and reporting to Consistory.
Consistory is pro-active and sets the annual agenda for itself and also give each Ministry Team a charge. It is responsible for initiating strategic planning, regular and systematic evaluation, and serve as the catalyst for good communication throughout the congregation.
The congregation, at an annual meeting, elects Ministry team members and Ministry team chairs. Members shall serve for two years. They may be re-elected for a second 2-year term. They are nominated by Consistory. Individual Ministry teams may want to suggest to Consistory possible names for the Ministry teams.
