Membership and Fellowship Ministry Team

This Ministry Team shall be responsible for recruiting new members, cultivating and grooming new members, promoting the church in the community, providing fellowship opportunities, and recommending members to fill vacancies on ministry teams and committees.

Some of the responsibilities of this group are:

• Implement a recruitment plan for new members
• Provide an orientation for new members
• Implement mentoring program for new members
• Identify areas for service of new members
• Implementation of a PR and marketing program within the local community
• Oversees and supports the work of the "Caring Team"
• Helps build community within the church
• Responsible for fellowship activities such as, but not limited to:

  • --Thanksgiving Dinner
  • --Strawberry Festival
  • --Adult fellowship dinners/groups
  • --College student fellowship programs
  • --Mid-week luncheons
  • -- Church-wide family events (e.g. church picnic)
  • --Special occasion dinners and receptions
  • --After worship coffee hour

• Recommend annual budget needs and monitor approved budget

This Ministry Team should meet regularly throughout the year. It probably should delegate some of the activities to individuals or sub-groups and monitor their progress. At the beginning of the year the team should develop a plan of activities with calendar dates and make it available to Consistory. Consistory will also refer items to the team that it would like to have addressed.

An annual report is expected in April of each and periodic reports should be made throughout the year to Consistory.
