Worship and Care Ministry Team

This Ministry Team shall be responsible, with the pastor, for the worship services and the sacraments and ordinances of the church. It shall oversee the music for worship, ushers, flowers, etc. It shall also oversee the care and visitation ministry.

Some of the responsibilities of this group are:

• Oversight of choir director and organist
• Obtain and train ushers for Sunday worship
• Secure donors for flowers
• Distribute flowers and audiotapes to ill and shut-ins
• Develop program for regular visitation of shut-ins (special team could be appointed for this), including ongoing training and support
• Oversee the care of the organ and piano
• Advent workshop
• Work with pastor and musicians in planning of worship services
• Arrange transportation to church for those in need
• Recommend annual budget needs and monitor approved budget

This Ministry Team should meet regularly throughout the year. It probably should delegate some of the activities to individuals or sub-groups and monitor their progress. At the beginning of the year the team should develop a plan of activities with calendar dates and make it available to Consistory. Consistory will also refer items to the team that it would like to have addressed.

An annual report is expected in April of each and periodic reports should be made throughout the year to Consistory.
